About us

Our legal name is Legalogic Ltd. and we’re an Israeli company based in Tel Aviv and NYC. “Legal Business Continuity” is the name of this particular Site owned by us. When we talk about “us” and “we” and “LawGeex” we’re talking about Legalogic and everybody who works here and all our related companies.

Definitions

You may have noticed that in this Privacy Policy certain common nouns are capitalized even when they appear in the middle of a sentence – like “Privacy” and “Policy.”

For example, in this contract “Site” means https://www.legalcontinuity.com.
The “Tool” means the LawGeex software that provides an automated review of legal documents. See https://www.lawgeex.com for more information.

“Services” means the use of the Tool and any other services we might give you via the Site.

“Terms” are the Terms of Use, which incorporate this Privacy Policy by reference.

This page constitutes the “Privacy Policy”.

Personal Information

“Personal Information” means any information that may be used, either alone or in combination with other information, to personally identify an

individual, including, but not limited to:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your personal profile
  • Your home or other physical address
  • Your email address or other contact information

Any information, video, image, data, text, documents, or other content you post on a public area of the Site will be available to all users of the Site.

Creating an Account

You can read our blog and other parts of the Site without giving us any Personal Information.

However, in order to use our Tool and Services you’ll need to set up an “Account.”
To set up an Account, you’ll need to give us:

  • Your email address
  • A password you make up

Submitting data

All of the data you and other users send to us (or to other users), upload, or post (NOT including legal documents to be reviewed by the Tool) is called “User Submissions”.

While we’ll try to protect the confidentiality of User Submissions that aren’t posted publicly, we can’t guarantee it.
Also, we have to turn your data over to others if we get a court order.

Legal documents that you submit to be reviewed by the Tool are called “Legal Submissions.” While no online company can absolutely guarantee security, we follow industry standards to protect your information. All Legal Submissions are uploaded using a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) with 128-bit encryption.

For additional protection, you’re welcome to strip out the party names and any sensitive terms (like home addresses and prices) before you upload a contract for review.

Paying for Services

If you use paid Services on the Site, you’ll need to give us your credit card information and other associated information like your name and address.

How We Use Your Personal Information

If you submit Personal Information and/or legal documents to us through the Site, then we may use your Personal Information and/or legal documents to:

  • improve our services to you
  • contact you
  • identify you and authenticate your access to the Services that you’re authorized to access

We may transfer your Personal Information and/or your legal documents within LawGeex or to LawGeex’s third-party service providers, but only to provide services on the Site or to you and/or to improve our service and product offerings.

Your information and documents may be transferred to other countries around the world.
We may provide your Personal Information and non-personally-identifiable information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies, or other businesses or persons for the purpose of processing such information on our behalf and to improve our product and service offerings. We require that these parties agree to process such information in compliance with our Privacy Policy, and we use reasonable efforts to limit their use of such information and to use other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

We may also use your email address to send you updates, a newsletter, or news regarding our Services. You may choose not to receive email of this type by sending an email with the subject “BLOCK” to privacy@lawgeex.com.
The email must come from the email account you wish to block.

We may disclose your Personal Information or your User Submissions to:

  • comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request
  • enforce our Terms of Use and investigate whether you’re breaking our rules
  • detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud or security issues
  • protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of LawGeex, its users, yourself, or the public

Anonymous Information

In addition to collecting some of your Personal Information, we also collect some Anonymous Information about you.

Anonymous Information” ” means information that doesn’t tell us anything about you as an individual.

We also collect information from the legal documents that users submit for analysis by the Tool, because that’s how the Tool becomes better and smarter.

We may use Anonymous Information or disclose it to third party service providers, to improve our Site and Services.

We may also disclose Anonymous Information (with or without compensation) to third parties, including advertisers and partners, for purposes including, but not limited to, targeting advertisements. No, that doesn’t mean we’re going to sell your email address so fake Viagra sellers can send you spam.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

Some of our Site pages use “cookies” and other tracking technologies.

In any case, a “cookie” is a small text file that can be used to collect information about your Site activity. Some cookies and other technologies may remember Personal Information you submitted before.

Most browsers allow you to control cookies, including whether or not to accept them and how to remove them.

You may set most browsers to let you know if you get a cookie, or you may choose to block cookies with your browser.

 

Access/Accuracy

To the extent that you do provide us with Personal Information, we want to maintain accurate Personal Information. You may at some point be able to check your profile and add information, delete information or correct any incorrect information we have.

Our Site may contain links to other sites. Other sites may also reference or link to our Site. We’re not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such other sites.

Children’s Privacy

The Site and Services aren’t intended for people under the age of 18. Nonetheless our policy is not to collect Personal Information from anyone under 18.

In the Event of Merger, Sale, or Bankruptcy

If we are acquired by or merged with a third party entity, we reserve the right to transfer or assign the information we collected from you and our other users as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control.

In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors’ rights generally, we may not be able to control how your Personal Information is treated, transferred, or used. So buy lots of our Services so we don’t go bankrupt. Please.

Your California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits customers of LawGeex who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an email privacy@lawgeex.com. Please note that we’re only required to respond to one request per customer each year.
